Cool Stream, Bro (An AmaRecTV Alternative)

So 2 days ago a guy called kraln decided to start the development of an AmaRecTV alternative called Cool Stream, Bro. Here's the thread.

It's still in really early development but one day we hope to make it equal, if not better than AmaRecTV. It will aim to eventually have all the features of the current AmaRecTV without as many bugs/crashes. Not saying I've encountered any crashes in awhile but reports do occasionally come in about this.

Why do we want this?

1. Currently the AmaRecTV development is at a standstill and nothing has surfaced in awhile.
2. Most users of the program are English speaking and this presents a problem. It's pretty much impossible to file a proper bug report to the developer because of this.

Currently kraln isn't sure if he should invest the time in development so give him your support and say you want this to continue being developed by replying to the above SDA thread or emailing coolstreambro@kraln.com

I'm just a guy from the UK that has a passion for video games and speedrunning (and of course capturing them). I originally started this blog because I wanted to share my knowledge and research I've gained over the years. Below is a brief history on my speedrunning and capture cards

I started speedrunning in mid 2006 with Resident Evil 4. Over the years I ran other games to world record level such as the Uncharted series, other Resident Evil titles, Heavy Rain and Clock Tower. I also enjoy glitch hunting video games. I was part of the team that found ways to skip 7 bosses in the original Metal Gear Solid game for PS1.

In early 2010, my first capture card was the Hauppauge HD PVR. Streaming with that device in 2010 was very difficult (basically screen region or nothing) so I moved onto the Blackmagic Intensity Pro in late 2010 since it was a DirectShow device. From then on I've added countless more capture cards to my collection from various companies such as AVerMedia, Blackmagic, Micomsoft, Dazzle and Elgato. I was also the first Western user to own and document the Micomsoft SC-512 capture card. It is now probably the most popular gaming capture card because of this.
